What Does Substance Abuse Treatment Look Like?

The course you or your loved one will take for substance abuse treatment looks different than the next person dealing with the same issue because every situation is unique. 1. Assessment – The first thing we’ll do is conduct a drug and alcohol assessment to see where you’re at personally. The assessment includes various standardized screenings and tests that will help us determine your situation’s best course of action.

2. Interview – After your standardized tests and screenings, someone from Casselton Consultants will interview you to understand more about your addiction and your personal circumstances. This will also give us a better idea of what type of treatment you need.

3. Group Therapy – Part of your treatment process will include group therapy. The amount of group therapy sessions you’ll be asked to attend will be determined previously during your assessment, and by attending all of the sessions, you’ll be better equipped to handle recovery.

4. 12 Step Group – All 12 Step group sessions are essential to recovery. These sessions allow you and others to be vulnerable about substance abuse and how you are dealing with the treatment process.

5. Random Drug Tests – During the course of your treatment, you will undergo random drug and alcohol tests. This is to ensure you’re on the path to recovery. If you do relapse, this helps hold you accountable and give us direction in changing up your treatment program.

Casselton Consultants is a certified treatment facility for The Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program. Casselton provides clinical evaluations and treatments for VASAP clients. If someone in Virginia gets a DUI or DWI conviction, it is mandatory they enroll and attend VASAP as part of the order. We provide virtual groups to accommodate out-of-state clients.
